The Virgins are a American indie rock band formed in 2005 based in New York City, New York. Recently named one of Alternative Press’s “100 Bands You Need to Know,” they have toured with Jet and opened for Sonic Youth and Patti Smith. They are currently taking part in the Nylon Summer Music Tour, opening for She Wants Revenge, with Be Your Own Pet and Switches. The band recently caused commotion in Europe, where they were featured on the cover of France’s Jalouse Magazine.
The Virgins also hit London for a number of packed-out shows – including an acclaimed set opening for their good friend Mark Ronson at the Hammersmith Apollo, which saw NME honoring them as the “Best Band We’ve Seen This Week.” Their 2008 self-titled debut, 'The Virgins', is a 10 track serving of party tunes written about the New York City life and everything in between. http://www.myspace.com/thevirginsnyc
